My Story
Named the most promising student by Standard Bank's CEO at the tender age of 19, Wellness Counsellor, Certified Life Coach, Author, and Motivational speaker, Felicia Goosen has outperformed expectations for a child born in a Thai prison. Born in a Thai prison, Felicia Goosen experienced the pain of separation from her mother at a young age. This deep-rooted sense of abandonment and loneliness became the catalyst for her life's mission to be a source of support and guidance for young people. She is a passionate advocate for mental wellness and is dedicated to helping vulnerable youth overcome their challenges.
Felicia founded FGwellness Life, online mental health and holistic wellness service for youth, parents, and teachers after earning her qualifications in Psychology and Child and Youth Development. She practices as a youth wellness counsellor in private practice.
Felicia is a certified life and confidence coach with a career that has expanded over several sectors, including education and healthcare. After feeling invisible and without a purpose for her first 19 years, Felicia established a non-profit foundation in 2016 to change the lens through which young people aged 10–25 see their world, mental health, and self-worth.

Using real-world examples, Felicia sheds light on wellness strategies for parents and educators to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma. Felicia empowers youth, parents, teachers and women through her Embracing You masterclass, workshops, and giving healing a voice in her biography "Prison Child".
In her debut book, "Prison Child," Felicia Goosen bravely opens up about her harrowing and inspiring journey from self-harming to self-healing, and offers a unique perspective and empathetic understanding of the struggles faced by young people today. Her story serves as a beacon of hope and resilience, inspiring others to believe in their own ability to overcome adversity.
